The data obtained in the bird banding survey commissioned to the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology by the Ministry of the Environment are owned by the latter and managed by the former. These data are accessible by the public for the purpose of contributing to the promotion of measures and research regarding wildlife protection.
However, the data obtained in the bird banding survey is allowed to use only if some requirements, the purpose and method is clearly explained and detailed information of each banding site is not public, are fulfilled because the data includes information with the risk of negative effects of illegal capture or other on bird's habitat and breeding.
